(93-95) Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (100% vendange entier; 50% new oak): Deep, dark red. Deep, brooding aromas of dark raspberry, bitter chocolate, licorice, mocha and pepper complemented by powerful musky minerality. Very dense and fine-grained, with its sexy sweetness leavened by pungent pepper and mineral notes. This utterly seamless wine finishes with strong but totally buffered tannins that saturate the front teeth and compelling lingering perfume of raspberry, spices, earth and flowers.
