Tasting Note
92-94 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (100% vendange entier; 40% new oak; tasted from barrel): Good bright medium red. Captivating nose offers black raspberry, bitter chocolate, Oriental spices and flowers. Broad, sweet and voluminous but also gripping for a wine of this size. A step up in flavor intensity and length from the Clos Vougeot. This dense, sappy wine is characterized more by flowers, soil and menthol than it is by simple primary fruit. The savory finish features a serious dusting of tannins and lingering notes of cardamom and salty minerality.Review Date: 01 Jan 13
