Cellarage
Atlas continues to have its own distinct approach to offer world-class cellarage standards which will help you assess your own reserve management expectations.
1. Charges In Arrears
We don’t charge you cellarage in advance, we charge in arrears, month by month, reflecting the monthly holding you have with in our storage at the time. That has always seemed the fairest approach.
2. Single Location
Once shipped, all our client wines are held in temperature and humidity-controlled conditions in our Private Client Reserves at LCB Eton Park, in Burton-on-Trent. We do not store client stock in multiple locations.
3. Quality Control
Our Private Client Reserves are not scattered throughout the bonded warehouse as is most often the case with many UK merchants; ours are held in one area that holds purely Atlas’ stock on one floor, where they are cared for by our own staff.
4. Traceability
We also offer complete traceability on every case you store with us by using a system of UIDs (unique identifiers), which are affixed to the cases on arrival and appear in real-time on your account listing, accessed via our secure website portal.
5. Distinct Custodianship
Crucially, we keep our own trading stocks in a separate account to our client reserves – and our storage providers, LCB Eton Park, understand who owns what and that Atlas is merely the custodian of those stocks held in our Private Client Reserve account.
6. Insurance
Finally, while insurance is often an after-thought for storage providers, we insure each and every case at full market value, updated monthly, and our cover is more comprehensive than you are likely to find elsewhere.
7. Transfer Costs
Transferring stocks can be easier that you might imagine. Atlas does not charge for receiving or checking incoming stocks so you are only likely to be billed a physical delivery cost from your current provider.
