Tasting Note
93+ Points, Ian d'Agata, 2020-2028 Vinous Bright red-ruby. Very broad, accessible and enticing nose of sweet spices and ripe red cherry, complicated by hints of varnish and rose. Then fresh and clean, with a classically dry mouthfeel and deep ripe red cherry, pomegranate and rhubarb flavors. Finishes long and nobly tannic. I’d lay this beauty down for a year or two, though it’s perfectly ripe now. Very typical of this contrada which gives more accessible wines than Le Vigne di Eli’s other cru Pignatuni, which is closer to Guardiola. Strikes me as one of the best Pignatuni’s made yet by Le Vigne di Eli.Review Date: 01 Sep 17
