Tasting Note
90-92 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (one-third vendange entier; 40% new oak; tasted from the barrel): Bright medium red with a palish rim. Expressive nose offers scents of black cherry, licorice, spices and underbrush. Reticent in the mouth but juicy, savory and penetrating, showing a slightly medicinal perfume to its intense dark fruit flavors. Highly aromatic wine with a light touch and apparent minerality on the subtle, lingering finish. This was the second wine to finish its malolactic fermentation, in early spring.Review Date: 01 Jan 13
