Tasting Note
(92-95) Points, Stephen Tanzer, 2024-2038 Vinous (these vines were picked on the same day as the Suchots and the wine was made with the same percentage of whole clusters and finished its malo at the same time, in late May): Healthy bright red. Deep, rather wild aromas of dark fruits, cocoa powder and peppery herbs show much more stem influence than the Suchots in the early going. Lush, large-scaled and utterly seamless, yet with lovely delicacy and precision to its sappy cherry and cherry skin flavors. Not as open-knit, fat or sweet today as the Suchots, and the tannins are a bit youthfully edgy, but this very long, vibrant wine should age gracefully and prove to be the superior bottle in the long run.Review Date: 01 Jan 15
