Tasting Note

88-90 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Good medium ruby. Spicy cherry, game and nutty oak on the nose. Juicy and intensely flavored but ungiving in the middle palate compared to the other '99s at this address; in a distinctly dryer style and rather sullen today. I don't yet find a lot of personality here. Finishes with slightly dry tannins that avoid astringency.Review Date: 01 Mar 01
