92-94 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Full ruby color. Knockout aromas of black fruits, violet, lead pencil and mint, plus a liqueur-like hint of kirsch Chewy and powerful but seamless and suave, already showing superb inner-mouth sweetness and perfume. Strong spice and licorice notes. Firmly tannic and very long on the aftertaste. If the Roda I is a wine of the '90s, this may well presage what to come in Rioja in the 21st century.Review Date: 01 Nov 99
