2022 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Assortment Case
(Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Romanée-St Vivant, Grands Echézeaux)
£28,950 per 6 bottle case in bond
2022 is a very highly regarded vintage, both for Burgundy as a whole and for Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in particular, as commented by Jasper Morris in May 2025: 2022 is standing out for me as potentially the finest vintage since the global warming turning point of 2018, despite being almost the hottest (just behind 2023) and certainly the driest of all these recent years, because the vines and vignerons seemed to have reached some sort of understanding of how to cope with the new conditions.
The 2022 vintage from Domaine de la Romanée Conti was released in early 2024 to strong critical acclaim, but at a moment when the fine wine market was still adjusting to broader economic conditions.
The combined total of best prices in the current market for the bottles in this case is £31,475 per 6 bottles - based on loose bottles. We can offer a pristine, banded, original wooden case (French back labels) at £28,950 per 6 bottle mixed case in bond - such a case would normally be at a premium to loose bottles.
Given the combination of strong critical consensus, naturally limited supply, and a market that has not yet fully priced in the vintage’s reputation, these 2022 mixed cases represent a straightforward, well supported opportunity for collectors looking to add DRC in a format that has proven appeal.

Romanée-Conti Grand Cru Monopole 2022
99-100 points, Jasper Morris, insideburgundy.com, May 2025
No deeper in colour, a pure and even purple. The nose is less immediate than La Tâche but with an exceptional feeling of depth. No longer rose petals but peonies in full bloom on top of the haunting depth of more than velvet dark red berries. Dancing across the palate in a stately way rather than tip toing. The finish is every bit as endless as La Tâche but with a much grander volume of fruit. This will need much more time and will deliver a stellar Romanée-Conti when it eventually reaches its apogee. I am going to do what I have only done once before – and score the wine with a split range of 99-100. Drink from 2040-2060

The cooler and restrained yet beautifully perfumed nose is comprised by aromas of exotic tea, incense, cinnamon, soy, hoisin and wonderfully floral-inflected notes that only add to the appeal. The velvety and utterly delicious medium weight flavors possess a mid-palate texture that is akin to rolling a small pebble around the mouth before culminating in a strikingly well-balanced finale that is breathtakingly long. This is also exceptionally classy and refined, indeed it possesses the most finesse of any wine in the range yet it's finesse is coupled with focused power. This spherical effort is Zen-like in its sense of presence and young wine just doesn't get any better in my experience. Where the '22 RC will ultimately rank in the pantheon of great vintages for this wine, it is impossible to know but it would be fair to say that it has an excellent chance to eventually find its place among the all-time greats. La Tâche Grand Cru Monopole 2022
99 points, Jasper Morris, insideburgundy.com, May 2025
An electric magenta colour. The bouquet can only be La Tâche with the freshly dried rose petals and the tell-tale stems completely surrounded by the perfume of the fruit. This meant several minutes of smelling before I felt ready to allow my glass of La Tâche to approach the mouth. So many wavelets of fruit that the preceding wines seem simple (which of course they aren’t) in comparison. As fine a young La Tâche as I have tasted. Effortless, endless. Drink from 2038-2055

Here the highly expressive nose could be accurately described as fireworks in a glass with its wonderfully floral nose and while I'm not sure quite how it's possible, the equally dazzling aromas are even spicier than those of the Richebourg. The opulently rich and voluminous broad-shouldered flavors are blessed with an abundance of sappy dry extract that also serves to buffer the even firmer yet finer tannins supporting the massively long and overtly mineral-driven finale that is slightly less austere than it typically is. This is quite simply brilliant. Drink 2042+
Romanée-St. Vivant Grand Cru 2022
97 points, Jasper Morris, insideburgundy.com, May 2025
Slightly lighter in colour. The bouquet too is a little more reserved. But then in the mouth the fruit explodes with an exceptional density. Tannins are a little more evident, with the youthful dry patch from the stems which will evolve eventually into a decadent leafiness to accompany fruit for the long term. Drink from 2035-2050

This is one of those wines where you don't even need to drink it to be wowed as the hauntingly perfumed nose of spice, floral elements, jasmine tea and the essence of red cherry is just remarkable. The super-sleek and lilting if quite punchy middle weight flavors are supported by firm but silky tannins on the wonderfully long finish that tightens up noticeably. While there is a trace of backend warmth, this is otherwise exceptionally classy and also very much built-to-age. Drink 2037+
Richebourg Grand Cru 2022
98 points, Jasper Morris, insideburgundy.com, May 2025
A little deeper and darker in crimson colour. The nose has a solidity of concentrated fruit as befits Richebourg, without sacrificing class. Powerful dark raspberry along with the deepest red but not black cherry. Perfect ripeness. Sensuality with a high-class backbone, the velvet texture invigorated by the lift of the whole bunches. Exceptionally long. Drink from 2037-2052

A classic, even kaleidoscopic, Richebourg nose is dazzling in its breadth with virtually every spice known to man suffusing the ripe black cherry, exuberantly floral and softly wooded nose. There is notably better mid-palate density to the generously portioned and seductively textured yet decidedly powerful flavors that conclude in an even more persistent and beautifully balanced finale. This is however quite structured and while the tannins aren't exactly chewy, neither are they yet completely integrated. As such, it would be fair to observe that the '22 Riche is very much constructed for the long haul and while it should be approachable after 15-ish years, full maturity isn't likely to arrive much before 20 years have passed. Terrific. Drink 2040+
Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru 2022
96 points, Jasper Morris, insideburgundy.com, May 2025
No deeper in colour than the Echezeaux, though the nose suggests a greater heart to the Grands Echezeaux compared to its sibling. Haunting, while retaining the hallmark white pepper and spice. Very much more backward, and some dark cherry in the mix whereas the wines to date have been all red fruit. No greater in finesse, just a little more volume – and persistence. Drink from 2034-2050
96 points, Allen Meadows, burghound.com, January 2026
Here the broad-ranging, ripe and fresh nose offers a big step up in aromatic complexity with a superb and perfumed array of exotic spice, soy, hoisin, violet and kirsch wisps. There is more volume and slightly better mid-palate density to the markedly powerful and tautly muscular flavors that display stunningly good persistence on the detailed and unapologetically built-to-age finale. 2022 is an excellent vintage for this wine and while it of course remains to be seen, it could arguably rival some of the all-time greats.
