Domaine Sylvain Cathiard, Bourgogne Aligoté 2022

The wines of Domaine Cathiard have long been characterised by their fruit purity and textural depth. Sebastien Cathiard’s Aligoté embraces this style. The first two vintages were from a small (0.13 hectare) parcel of young vines, but the wine now benefits from a majority (1.45 hectares) of significantly older vines that bring a higher level concentration. Add to this the warm, dry conditions of the 2022 vintage and you have here an Aligoté of intensity and breadth of a character and quality consistent with everything that is produced at this understandably revered Vosne-Romanée address.
 
We have just had our allocation recently confirmed and so have decided to offer Domaine Sylvain Cathiard, Bourgogne Aligoté 2022 en primeur.
 
We will notify you as soon as the wine has shipped in case you wish to take immediate delivery. We anticipate shipment being made in November 2023.

Sébastien Cathiard’s Bourgogne Aligoté displays fresh, vibrant notes of lemon zest and a touch of smoky minerality on the nose. On the palate the clean, fresh, pure citrus fruit comes through in abundance while there is also the typical Cathiard depth and breadth that perfectly counterbalance the tauter nature inherent to the Aligoté grape variety. This is full of energy and illustrates clearly why Aligoté is a resurgent variety across Burgundy offering great value and interest. Drink 2024-2028
