Not because they are in any way fragile, but because they are pure drinking pleasure with healthy fruit and glorious balance. Jean-Pierre has for many years now been making whites of great purity, transparency, integrity and harmony from his base on the main road through Meursault. The arrival of critical acclaim has been slow but has more recently been building, with both Allen Meadows and Jasper Morris increasingly and consistently smitten over the last four or five vintages. Latour-Giraud’s under-the-radar status is a huge blessing for us and for you, of course. Long may it continue! Even if we would like to see Jean-Pierre gain the wider recognition he deserves.

Good ripeness and concentration, showing excellent intensity for its level on the nose. Subtle hazelnut notes then a citrus-laden attack with lemon and grapefruit notes. Textured through the palate with a pithy grip at the end carrying the citrus fruit. And less than 13% alcohol, Jean-Pierre tells me. Too more-ish. Drink 2026-2030 (ROM)

Ripe and fresh aromas include those of petrol, straw and the essence of apple. There is both good volume and vibrancy to the succulent and nicely textured middle weight flavors that conclude in a clean, dry and youthfully austere finale. This well-made effort is worth considering. Drink 2026+
