2021 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru, Domaine Trapet
95-98 points, Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com, December 2022
Louis considers that Latricières-Chambertin is typically three degrees cooler than neighbouring Combottes. 40% whole bunch vinification. Glowing purple. A touch of reduction on the nose but a vibrant luxurious fruit nonetheless. There is a gorgeous coating of a deep dark velvet fruit with the structure behind perfectly poised, refined tannins and clean acidity. Very long. A gorgeous wine in the making. Louis feels that 2020 lost the plot of Latricières – but not at all 2021. Drink from 2028-2038. Five Star Wine.

2021 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru, Domaine Trapet

94-97 points, Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com, December 2022
60% whole bunch vinification. A fine if slightly less deep purple. A very fine, fruit laden yet precise bouquet. Alpine strawberries, always a good sign for me. Very long finish here yet the sensuality of the fruit, now with cherries, comes out even more. Really long and exceptionally stylish. Drink from 2028-2038.

2020 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru, Domaine Trapet

95 points, Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com, September 2024

A fine fresh purple with some density. The bouquet indicates high class fully ripe fruit, without evident stems (wrong! 90% whole bunch vinification). Plenty of density, on the cusp of red and black, a few tannins, possibly from the oak, but they do not impinge. Good length, clean, very much in the raspberry fruit mould. Does that make it a bit simple? Not at all! Drink from 2027-2035.

2017 Chambertin Grand Cru, Domaine Trapet

96 points, Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com, September 2021

Mid crimson colour. Perhaps a fractional reduction, certainly a less expressive nose first up. Now the depth is building. Bright dense concentrated, backward, some drier tannins but just to provide long term structure. Good acid balance too. This keeps getting better. 96+ Maybe 97? .
