We have worked with Vietti for some time now; the estate is now widely regarded among the top tier of Piemontese producers – and justifiably so. The estate was made famous in the 1950s by the late Alfredo Currado who pioneered selecting and vinifiying grapes from single vineyards, and also worked tirelessly to have Barolo recognised outside of Italy. The estate now rests in the capable hands of Alfredo’s son, Luca, and son-in-law, Mario Cordero. From Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of the Barolo zone, the estate continues to move from strength to strength, producing some of the finest examples of wine from the region.

Very much a family business, Elena Penna, Luca’s wife, handles the marketing for Vietti and we are incredibly pleased to be hosting with Vietti this dinner which is available to just fifteen clients. At this event, Elena Penna will introduce some of the finest vintages of Vietti with comments from Simon Larkin MW of Atlas along the way. Although Vietti produce wines of incredible quality up and down the scale, on this occasion, the evening will focus primarily on Barolo; we will begin with a pre-dinner tasting of the 2012, 2011 and 2010 vintages which will make for a fascinating comparison. Theo Randall will be creating a menu specifically to pair with the more mature examples.

It is an impressive line-up of vintages indeed, and we hope it provides a unique opportunity to contextualise the estate and its successes. Please find the full wines list below:
