We are very pleased that Florence Cathiard, proprietor of Château Smith Haut-Lafitte will be joining us for this special dinner, which will be open to a select few clients. The Cathiards acquired this well-situated château in the Pessac-Léognan appellation of Bordeaux in 1990 and have invested considerable capital, time and effort in driving the quality of this estate ever higher. Since their acquisition of the estate we have witnessed an incredible increase in quality; with numerous notable vintages resulting. This dinner will not only allow guests the chance to discuss this resurgent estate with the proprietors themselves, but also to taste a great range of recent successes in both red and white. I should stress that the estate is equally well praised for its white as their red Graves. The evening will commence with a glass of Champagne at 6.45pm, to be followed by a tasting of five youthful wines in advance of dinner. We will then partner five more mature vintages to the specific dishes. One particular highlight of the event will be the opportunity to taste the 2009 vintage, which received a perfect score of 100 points from influential wine critic Robert Parker, alongside the equally well-regarded 2010.
