Enquire NowThe Poggio Al Vento Dinner – a rare occasion to taste a vertical of Col d’Orcia’s outstanding Riserva alongside fine Tuscan cuisine.
We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting a stunning Brunello di Montalcino four course dinner at Enoteca Turi in Sloane Square SW1W 8PH on the 26th June 2024.
This dinner focuses on the Poggio al Vento Riserva from Col d’Orcia and will present guests with a rare opportunity to compare vintages of this outstanding Riserva from the very finest vintages of the last twenty years. Col d’Orcia’s Poggio al Vento Riserva has featured in our regular offers this year after we were fortunate enough to access a parcel of the sublime 2001 and 2004 vintages direct from the estate’s cellars following a comparative 2004 Brunello di Montalcino tasting that Simon held with clients. The Poggio al Vento was for him the most impressive wine of the night. You can read Simon’s recent offer of the 2001 and 2004 Poggio al Vento in full by clicking here.
The full list of wines is below, suffices to say that they are being provided from the estate’s private reserve, and very few of them remain in circulation in the market. Furthermore, we are looking forward to welcoming Santiago Marone Cinzano who will be hosting the event with Atlas’ Managing Director, Simon Larkin MW. By way of background, the Cinzano family purchased Col d’Orcia in 1973, and it is their foresight and meticulous attention to detail that his driven quality forward at this outstanding Brunello estate. The jewel in the estate’s crown is undoubtedly, the single vineyard Riserva, Poggio al Vento, which is only made in vintages where the family believe the quality warrants the production of a Riserva. This wine is capable of ageing over the long-term, evolving into a complex, beautifully expressive Brunello to rank with any other leading example produced in the region.
We really hope you can join us for what will prove to be a fascinating evening of fine Tuscan cuisine and outstanding, mature Brunello di Montalcino. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions; please see below for the full list of wines and the menu.
