Tasting Note
94 Points, Neal Martin, 2024-2038 Vinous The 2020 Pinot Noir Ridge comes from vines planted in 2006 on Bokkeveld shales like the Vrede but 200m higher in elevation with a different orientation, more exposed to the ocean winds, which generates another week to 10 days longer hang time. It has a very open, delineated and classy bouquet with (again) impressive transparency and a Burgundy-like allure. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly firmer tannins than Hannes's other cuvées, lovely grip and tension on the finish. Superb. Review Date: 29 Sep 22
