REDS

2022 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru, Bouchard Père & Fils
£1,190 per 3 bottle case in bond
93-96 points, Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com, October 2023

Purple colour. A very heady nose, luxurious, nothing cooked. A consistent, coherent richness throughout, with a raft of tannins to finish, but they do not dry out the wine at all. A final ball of dark cherry fruit at the very end. Drink from 2032-2040

2022 Beaune 1er cru, Grèves, Vigne de l'Enfant Jesus, Bouchard Père & Fils
£815 per 6 bottle case in bond
93-95 points, Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com, October 2023

More crimson than purple, with notably more presence than the other Beaunes. A range of fruits finishing with some black cherry after the dark red berries, a heightened intensity of fruit, with an excellent balance between tannin and acidity, and notable length. Not racked but has retained purity. Drink from 2030-2038

2022 Volnay 1er cru, Les Caillerets, Ancienne Cuvée Carnot, Bouchard Père & Fils
£440 per 6 bottle case in bond
91-93 points, Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com, October 2023

A small yield in 2022, making it hard to judge the picking date. A rich deep purple in the centre. The oak adds a sheen to the nose. There is vigour to this albeit with a slightly riper fruit profile, but the structure is balanced very well by a fresher limestone feel. Drink from 2029-2036

2022 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru, Les Lavières, Bouchard Père & Fils
£225 per 6 bottle case in bond
88-90 points, Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com, October 2023

Racked 6 weeks ago. Deep crimson, with rich raspberry and strawberry fruit, some tannins but in proportion to the fruit and enough acidity. This is nicely poised, not too ripe, and with good length. Drink from 2027-2032

WHITES

2022 Montrachet Grand Cru, Bouchard Père & Fils
£2,575 per 3 bottle case in bond
97-99 points, Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com, October 2023

Fine pure lemon yellow. The bouquet starts off rather reserved. A suggestion of immense weight, certainly some new oak, but waiting for the fruit and the personality of the wine to emerge. Now some coconut and the feeling that the wine is about to release its magic. Superbly suave on the palate, more lifted than I expected and still the main core of the wine does not want to be touched. A fine mineral acidity at the finish but still wait and see. Only right at the end does it all start to kick in. A wine of immense density for the very long-term future. Retasting the glorious Cabotte reinforces the majesty of this Montrachet. Drink from 2034-2045+

2022 Chevalier-Montrachet La Cabotte Grand Cru, Bouchard Père & Fils
£1,970 per 3 bottle case in bond
96-99 points, Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com, October 2023

Pale primrose in colour. Noticeably more majesty here, a greater depth and also a little touch of oak. Halfway at least to Montrachet. An entirely coherent expression with a stunning density of white fruit, and a perfectly integrated acidity. This year the Cabotte is closer to the power of Montrachet, a brilliant wine. Drink from 2032-2040

2022 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru, Bouchard Père & Fils
£1,235 per 3 bottle case in bond
94-96 points, Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com, October 2023

The blend of the four terraces. For the first time there is an opulent honeysuckle note, yet still with the pure white limestone fruit of Chevalier behind. Orange rind appears at the back. A thoroughly interesting and complex wine. Good tension within the ripe fruit profile. Drink from 2030-2038

2022 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Bouchard Père & Fils
£1,135 per 6 bottle case in bond
93-95 points, Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com, October 2023

The Bouchard holding in Le Corton is made up of white marl on top of limestone slabs, and protected by the forest from the evening sun. Pale lemon and lime. The nose is slightly backward, delicate little flowers, but with the correct stony, almost gravelly aspect. Some riper fruit notes putting their heads above the parapet. A significant saline character too, behind. Drink from 2030-2038

2022 Meursault 1er cru, Genevrières, Bouchard Père & Fils
£590 per 6 bottle case in bond
94-96 points, Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy.com, October 2023

The plot by the road is their first Meursault to pick. Half and half from their two plots, as there is much being replanting in the lower plot. Fine pale to mid lemon. Super refined complex bouquet. This beautifully refined quality continues on the palate, a little sandalwood note, a suggestion of verbena along with the golden yet fresh fruit. Nuances throughout but still with a refined generosity of flesh. The Bouchard Père & Fils Genevrières stands out this year! Drink from 2030-2040

Please let us know of your interest - these cases are offered on a first come, first served basis.

As always with Burgundy releases, we are unable to sell leading Grand Cru and Premier Cru or wines from particularly sought-after domaines in isolation – we cannot buy them from the domaines that way ourselves and we are aware that demand is sure to outstrip supply. However, instead of running a complex system of allocations, we do aim to confirm requests as soon as we are able to do so or to highlight where we are unable to assist. To request a specific wine, please contact any member of the sales team on +44 (0) 20 3017 2299. You can also reach Simon Larkin MWRichard O'Mahony, and James Ceppi di Lecco by email.
