With the holiday season fast approaching and final delivery deadlines looming, I thought I would bring to your attention a Champagne, a white and a red that are all drinking very well based on bottles we have opened and enjoyed in the last week or two and represent incredible value for what you get in the glass. These are all in stock and available for delivery to be enjoyed over the festive period.

NV Brut Les Prémices, Egly Ouriet (Disgorged 2022)
£220 per 6 bottle case in bond

90 points, William Kelley, robertparker.com
Based on the 2018 vintage and disgorged with only one gram per liter dosage, Egly's NV Brut Les Prémices delivers aromas of sweet orchard fruit, peach, baking spices and fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, it's a charming, enveloping wine with a sweet core of fruit and a bright, saline finish. Drink to 2030.

2019 Chardonnay, Curly Flat
£210 per 6 bottle case in bond

Simon Larkin MW, Atlas Fine Wines
Pale in the glass – with air it reveals enticing aromas of grilled grapefruit, juicy lime and toasted nut as well as a very subtle leesy note. The palate is immediately captivating – with more juicy stone fruits, nectarine and exotic fruits too, as well as mouthwatering lime and citrus. Perhaps this is a slightly more forward drinking vintage than its 2018 counterpart, but still has the structure to age, with terrific natural acidity and a chalky, mineral undertow. A touch richer and rounder this vintage, but so appealing, the consistency of Curly Flat’s Chardonnay is quite remarkable. Yes, there are subtle shifts in style in accordance with vintage, but the quality remains high, year in, year out. This is another outstanding vintage in a long run of successes. Drink to 2032.

2016 Barolo, Neirane, Bosco Agostino
£360 per 12 bottle case in bond

Simon Larkin MW, Atlas Fine Wines
Revealing the garnet hue that is so typical of Nebbiolo, with a translucence to the rim, the 2016 Neirane has an immediately engaging set of aromatics; floral/violet, dark cherry, loganberry as well as a note that makes me think of autumnal leaves. Already complex, the mid-weight palate is expressive, exuding a silky elegance and a combination of classic notes – dark cherry, pomegranate, exotic spice, mint as well as tangy blood orange notes. The tannins are gentle allowing the fruit to come to the fore – this is an accessible, elegant, supple Barolo that could be broached now or allowed to mature for another 7 or 8 years. It is fascinating to taste a lesser-known Cru and the overriding impression here is of Verduno elegance with a enlivening freshness yet the core of fruit you would expect of such a vintage. Drink to 2030.
