Atlas Fine Wines Tastings

New Releases

We are always actively on the look out for interesting parcels of wine and taste widely to facilitate this –  whether this be of current releases or wines that we have the opportunity to re-taste and re-evaluate. We enjoy strong relationships with a growing number of leading producers from whom we receive annual allocations and are constantly looking to build on this pool of growers. We therefore spend considerable time each year in key regions visiting producers and assessing new possibilities.

In each instance, we aim to keep our offering as diverse and fresh as possible.

Domaine Giraud, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Tradition ...

We often forget just how vast the region of Châteauneuf-du-Pape actually is. This famous wine region, situated to north of Avignon covers a huge 25 square kilometres. A region of such a size, producing over 100,000 hectolitres of wine per annum, is sure to encompass variation in style as well as quality. Despite the generalisations made ab...

Leeuwenkuil, ‘Heritage’, Syrah 2012

It is great to be reminded that it is still possible to be surprised by a new wine and even, for that matter, a region. Stag’s Leap Cellars, 'Cask 23' Cabernet Sauvign...

Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars is synonymous with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon given its long and distinguished reputation. The estate was founded in 1970 when the Napa was undergoing a revival following the years of prohibition. It is worth remembering that in the mid-sixties there were fewer than 20 wineries operating in the Napa. What cemen...

Vietti, Perbacco, Nebbiolo 2012

It is always great to be able to highlight key values, such as Vietti’s 2012 Nebbiolo, Perbacco at £90 per 6 bottle case in bond. This Langhe Nebbiolo is something of a junior Barolo; the blend for Perbacco is settled once the estate has selected casks or vineyards to constitute the Barolo Castiglione. To say that in specific vintage...

Charles Heidsieck Rosé Millesimé Champagne 1999

‘Rich and toasty in aroma, this seamless rosé is aging gracefully, offering a silky mousse and vibrant acidity that structures the grilled hazelnut, fleur de sel, raspberry coulis, spiced plum and spun honey flavors. A delicious Champagne. Drink now through 2024.’
