Bordeaux 2014: The Aftermath

We have seen this morning the first significant releases of the 2014 Bordeaux vintage. Up till this point prices have been approximately 10% up on 2013. Even though some wines have now released 10% below 2013, we still do not yet see a compelling reason to buy en primeur this year.

Atlas announces its second Master of Wine... Vi...

We are incredibly pleased to announce that Victoria Stephens-Clarkson, Atlas’ Head of Buying, has just passed her Master of Wine dissertation (the final stage of the examination) and has therefore been awarded her MW. Vicki joined the wine trade first in 2000 working for a Grande Marque Champagne house in Epernay. From there, she progressed to a major UK merchant where she worked alongside Simon Larkin. After a further six years working in wine production and buying for a leading importer and retailer, she then joined Atlas in 2012.

Bloomberg - ‘Solidity Returning to Prices’ for ...

“There’s a solidity returning to prices” for top Bordeaux wines after three years of sliding values as buyers start to return, according to Simon Larkin, owner and managing director of Atlas Fine Wines Ltd. in London. “Bordeaux is almost at that base where we’re going to see some growth coming in,” he said in an interview at his Canary Wharf office this month.
